I am happy to be a partnering with Unilever to help get the word out about Project Sunlight, their long-term initiative to motivate people to live sustainably by inspiring them to create a brighter future for children.
Through this partnership I have learned quite a bit about Unilever and their brands (did you know their brand touch 2 billion people around the world everyday? Wow). They are also a global leader in sustainable living. For example, Lipton is working with the Rainforest Alliance to develop more sustainable approaches to tea farming and Hellmann’s is making a commitment to transition its entire product line to 100 percent cage-free eggs by 2020.
Unilever recently launched a new short film, “The Way Kids See It”, to inspire people to take small actions to live sustainably. And what better way to inspire people than show the unique ideas and the magic that children all over the world apply to tackle all sorts of environmental and social issues. Be sure to check out the video!
Juliet is a bit young but we definitely try to teach her even at this young age by leading by example. I can’t wait until she’s a bit older to share with us ideas of her own.
Head over to the Project Sunlight page to learn more and find a “Summer Sunlight Activity” that can make your household more sustainable. Juliet and I are going to be meal planning using one ingredient, five ways to help reduce food waste (we are all guilty of this!). I chose sweet potatoes as the ingredient and we’ll have lots of great recipes and food ideas for you next week.
What do you think of Unilever Project Sunlight? Are you inspired to try any of the Summer Sunlight Activities?
