Rosalyn (Rosie) Nora was born on January 10th. She was exactly 38 weeks and for whatever reason, I was surprised as I thought she was going to go right until her due date, if not longer. But my water broke out at brunch with friends and she was ready to arrive.
I’m so glad she’s here. She’s just the sweetest thing and I am in newborn heaven. I really do love this age, even with the sleep deprivation, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Breastfeeding again is so awesome…and this time around, it’s been easy! Well, as easy as it can be despite the amount of time it takes over the course of one day. Juliet was born at 36 weeks and we definitely struggled with breastfeeding among other things.
But Rosie’s first week and a half with us has been pretty easy. Erik agrees. We are in a bit of shock with the ease of it, actually. It feels like she’s been a part of our family all along.
Like with Juliet, our labor experience was really great. I’ll tell the whole story another day.
Seeing Juliet meet her baby sister was adorable. She instantly loved her sister and was very sweet with her. She has been great with Rosie since we brought her home from the hospital.
Erik was a wonderful partner during labor and he adores his new little girl. Now if only I could get him to take on a few more diaper changes at night…
I can’t stop staring at her sweet face, especially when she sleeps. I really should be sleeping instead because, let’s be honest, I am tired as hell!
Yay for sisters!!!
I am so thankful for my new little girl and for our family of four. Now that I’m on maternity leave for the next 11 weeks I’d really love to get back cranking on the blog…but something has shifted in the past few months and I’ve seemingly lost the desire to share on the blog. I’ve turned most of my attention to sharing on instagram, it’s more effortless and I enjoy the conversation that takes place there. So I’m not sure what that means…I’m going to wait and see over the next couple months to determine if I can get my blogging mojo back.
In the meantime, you can follow me on Instagram here, but fair warning that the photos consist of a cute baby, a cute, but sometimes grumpy toddler and occasional sweet treats.
